Bathrooms, kitchens, renovations and maintenance are what the sign says. Underneath them sit the specifics — wetrooms and awkward en-suites, tiling and flooring set out properly, structural alterations, and commercial change-of-use work. All of it runs from the office at Wallops Wood, across Hampshire.

Bathrooms

A complete bathroom, taken from the first consultation through to the day you get the room back. We work in partnership with leading bathroom showrooms and design specialists across Hampshire, which means we see a great many designs and have a fairly unsentimental view of which ones will actually fit. The layout is planned properly, the waterproofing is done before a single tile goes on, and the finish is the part we are judged on. Family bathrooms, en-suites, shower rooms, downstairs cloakrooms and wetrooms all go through the same route.

Kitchen installation

Kitchens installed in collaboration with your supplier or from a design you have brought us yourself. The fitting is the part that decides whether a kitchen looks expensive: doors that line through, a worktop joint you cannot feel with a fingertip, appliances sitting flush, end panels scribed to a wall that is never as straight as the drawing assumed. Where the kitchen needs more than fitting — a wall moved, a window altered, new flooring right through, the electrics reworked for an island — that is building work we do ourselves rather than send you off to arrange.

Renovations

Full and partial property renovations: structural alterations, room reconfigurations and general building works, at any scale from one tired room to an entire house. It is the service that lets the other three off the leash — a bathroom that needs a wall moving, a kitchen that wants opening into the dining room, a loft nobody has used in a decade, a landing with just enough width in it to become a shower room. Because the same firm does the building work and the fitting, nobody gets to blame anybody else for the gap between the two.

Maintenance for landlords & agents

A substantial part of the business that has nothing to do with new bathrooms: reactive and planned maintenance for landlords, letting agencies, housing associations, local authorities, property management companies and commercial clients. Plumbing, electrical, carpentry, doors, locks and windows, tiling, plastering and general repairs — the long tail of small jobs that a portfolio generates, handled by the same employed team rather than by whoever answered the phone. If you manage property in Hampshire and are tired of chasing five trades, this is the bit of us to ring.

Wetrooms, en-suites & small rooms

An en-suite off a bedroom, a loft shower room with the ceiling coming down to meet you, a cloakroom carved out of a hallway. Small rooms are the more demanding design problem, because every decision is load-bearing: which way the door swings, how much clear floor you need in front of a basin, whether the floor will take a fully tanked wetroom fall or wants a low-profile tray instead, and how you light a room with no window. One of the jobs Concept is asked about most often is exactly this — turning a landing or a box room into a proper bathroom.

Tiling, flooring & finishes

Tiling and flooring are where a room is either finished or merely completed. Large-format porcelain needs a flatter substrate and fuller adhesive coverage than most people expect; herringbone and brick-bond set-outs need their centre lines found and their cuts balanced before any adhesive is mixed; a wet zone wants silicone at the internal corners rather than grout, because those joints move. Commercial fit-outs & conversions

Concept is not a purely residential firm, and the case studies show it: one of the projects on record is a former hair salon converted into a tanning studio, with private cubicles, full tiling and new aesthetics, bathroom and WC rooms. Commercial fit-out work runs on the same principle as the domestic jobs — one firm holding the whole programme, one sequence agreed in advance, and a realistic view of what a building will let you do. The difference is that here the programme is usually running against a lease, an opening date, or both.

What we don't claim

Concept holds no trade-body registration we could put a badge on this page for, and we would rather say so plainly than borrow somebody else's logo. Two award shortlistings are displayed on the company's own site — BKU in 2022 and a kbbreview Retail & Design Awards installation finalist — and we have repeated them here exactly as the company displays them rather than presenting them as independently verified; treat them as a nice thing somebody said, not as a credential. What is checkable is Companies House 06371458, incorporated in 2007 and still active, a public 5.0 rating on Google, and customers who have used us for several projects over the years and said so in public. Gas work and notifiable electrical work are brought in from the appropriate registered trade, as they must be. And nobody here will price a bathroom over the phone, because the figure is decided by the room rather than by the conversation.
