Winchester & the Meon Valley

Home ground. The office is at Wallops Wood just outside Droxford, so Winchester, Bishop’s Waltham, Wickham, Meonstoke and Alresford are a short run and a survey visit is never a logistical event. A lot of the housing here is old — flint, brick and render, thick walls, floors that are not level and stacks in places nobody would choose today — which is exactly the sort of work that rewards surveying properly before anything is ordered.

Southampton & the Waterside

Twenty minutes west: Southampton, Eastleigh, Chandler’s Ford, Hedge End, Botley and Totton. A mix of Victorian terraces with back-addition bathrooms, 1930s semis where the kitchen wants opening into the dining room, and newer estate housing with generous but badly arranged en-suites.
